Ladies Auxiliary
Member of the Month for March 2010
Linda Duncan
I first met this
lady and her husband when we took the Council bus trip to Bedford. They
seemed a great couple and I was glad to see such an enthusiastic and
friendly couple joining Bishop Ireton.
And join they did!
Right away they became involved in many of the Council’s activities and
events….working bingo, helping whenever the hall needed decorating,
clean up, etc. They were a Godsend to Bob and me when we needed help
cleaning up after last year’s State Council dance. They pitched right in
and before you knew it, the four of us had the work all done.
This lady works a
very demanding job, which leaves very little time to herself and her
family’s needs. However, that does not stop her from helping our
Auxiliary out. She volunteered to help and was a very valuable
member of the “Adopt-a-Room” project at Home Again. She was able to
juggle her schedule to help shop and help decorate the room we adopted.
I still see her climbing on the top bunk beds to put that fitted sheet
on each bed! She once again pitched right in and did what needed to be
done.
Again, because of
her busy job, she sometimes does not get to attend each and every
meeting. But I know she is there in spirit and
more than makes up for her absence whenever another project rolls
around.
I, for one, am
very glad she and her husband joined our Council! It is my
honor to name Linda Duncan Ladies
Auxiliary Member of the Month for March. Thank you, Linda for being such
a welcome and valuable member to our group! (Marty Prebish) |
